Gerald Celente was so gracious to open his schedule for a quick interview with Community Hubb.  We encourage everyone to check out his brainchild Trends Journal.  For over 35 years Mr. Celente has been a tireless advocate for our Constitutional Rights.  His Occupy Peace and Freedom Rallies have featured many important, knowledgeable and inspiring individuals.

Why do you think the mood should stay positive when you’re promoting the rallies?

It has to stay positive because if we don’t move in a positive direction we’re going to decline into a negative hole – which is where we’re heading.  This is about making America healthy again.  We’re talking about making it healthy not only patriotically, but spiritually, and physically as well.  This country is quickly going down in front of our eyes.  We have to make some positive changes now.

It’s a junk food nation – in mind, in body, and in spirit.  Looking at the data that’s coming out now, people are fed up with the system – the establishment.  A new Rasmussen poll has found that two thirds of the American people are disgusted with the mainstream media.  There’s also the Harvard/Harris Poll that also recently came out and it’s showing disgust across the entire socio-economic, geopolitical spectrum. People are just fed up with the system.

There’s a great quote by Samuel Adams – one of the founding fathers:  “It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men”.

This is what the rally is about – representing that angry minority.

I know both the Democrats and Republicans have really let down the American people in recent years.  RFK, Jr. seems to really resonate with people.  Your thoughts on this?

If you take a look at my YouTube videos from this past December, I said that RFK, Jr. would be the best candidate to run for president.  Think about this, say your uncle – who was president of the United States – was assassinated, and then your father was assassinated, what kind of person would you be? You would have a different attitude than a lot of the other politicians out there? Think about what he’s saying, he wants to bring home the troops from overseas.  Bring them back to protect the homeland and get them out of all these wars.  Some people don’t like him because of his statements about climate change.   But he’s also come out and said that climate change has now been completely taken over by Bill Gates and the Billionaires.  To me he is the true spirit of what the Democratic party used to be.

When you predict trends in your publication Trends Journal, what do you say to people that think you’re an alarmist, the preacher of doom and gloom?

Take a look at all the trends that we forecast, not just the ugly trends.  For instance I’m the guy that came up with the bottle-water trend in 1986. I’m the guy that coined the term “clean food” which The New York Times then did a big story on back in the early 90’s.  I’m also the guy that said gourmet coffees would be huge, when nobody was thinking about gourmet coffee, again this was back in the early 90’s.  There’s a whole bunch of positive trends that we’ve predicted.  I’m a political atheist.

By being a political atheist, does that help you more accurately predict the trends?

Absolutely! I accomplished so much in my early 20’s and 30’s but my goal back then was primarily making money.  I’ve interacted with presidents, prime ministers, and princes. I didn’t really grow up until my 30’s – and it was at that time when I became a political atheist.  I look at things for what they really are.  I became a political atheist when Jimmy Carter announced that “Iran is the island of stability”, all while the revolutions are taking place.

What are you trying to ultimately achieve with the rallies?

I want to get a global peace movement going.  We have to stop this insanity.  Brown University just put out a study last week stating that  we’ve spent over 8 trillion dollars killing some 4.5 million people in wars since 9-11.  We say “I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under God….” but wait…

What kind of nation under God spends that kind of money killing innocent people? People that haven’t done anything to you and are of no threat to you? And what God are you talking about? We need real change at this point.  I want the rallies to make the change we desperately need now.
