It is not just mRNA vaccines that cause heart issues. Heart attacks can be caused by blood clots that block blood flow to the heart. In court this week, AstraZeneca finally admitted their ‘clotshot’ caused blood clots, which may explain why more than a third of heart-related Yellow Card reports cite AstraZeneca.

Since the beginning of the rollout TCW has commissioned a weekly forensic dive into MHRA figures. Adverse events are legion. By the end of March 2024, the Yellow Card scheme had received 33,058 reports of cardiac-related reactions, 511 of which were fatal. Most reports cited Pfizer’s mRNA mono and bivalent vaccines, 15,735 (48 per cent), and a staggering 12,385 (37 per cent) from AstraZeneca’s non-mRNA jab, suspended for use here in September 2021 before boosters were rolled out. Pfizer and AstraZeneca account for 85 per cent of all reports. The balance belongs to Moderna’s mono and bivalent, Novavax, and ‘unknown brand’ which includes the short-lived Janssen jab – we purchased 20million doses.

Even vaccine zealots are beginning to join the dots. Dr Paul Offit received the Dr Charles Mérieux award for achievement in vaccinology and immunology in 2009. He said: ‘There certainly is a causal link between vaccination and myocarditis and pericarditis. No doubt about it.’

Guernsey has a small population, 63,000, and cases of myocarditis are rare, pericarditis even rarer. Most years see two to three cases of myocarditis. In 2020, they had five cases of myocarditis during the height of covid, although authorities blame current myocarditis numbers on SARS-CoV-2 infection. This rose to 25 in 2021, after the vaccine rollout, 22 in 2022, and they are awaiting confirmation that there were 30 cases in 2023. They recorded 20 cases of pericarditis in 2021 and none in the other years mentioned.

Dr Patterson said: ‘Covid vaccine myocarditis was only detected because we vaccinated young people. If we had not vaccinated young people, we would not have seen the signal. The signal in the older patients is lost because they’re all treated as coronary artery disease patients. Coming out of lockdowns they treated all these adults like they were having a heart attack and failed to see they were myocarditis patients.’

The Yellow Card scheme records child and teen cardiac fatalities too. Five children in the 0-9-year-old cohort died after receiving the Pfizer bivalent, while ten in the 10-19-year-old cohort also died: five after the Pfizer mono and five after AstraZeneca. Young adults were most vulnerable with 14 deaths reported in 20-to-29-year-olds, six after Pfizer and eight after AstraZeneca. The MHRA say reports do not equal causation without giving detail as to how they know this, and we know they conduct limited investigation into individual reports.

US paediatric cardiologist Dr Kirk Milhoan, affiliated with Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Kihei, Hawaii, says myocarditis is scarring the hearts of children which puts them at risk of death. He said: ‘In 25 years of doing paediatric cardiology, I’ve never seen a case of vaccine injured. Now I probably see one every week, or at least I’m suspicious of it.

‘They’ve been harping on that you get worse and increased myocarditis from infection from covid. That is just not true, the JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) study from Nordic countries that looked at 23million people showed that the unvaccinated were at the least risk from myocarditis. The risk increased (in males aged 16 to 24) with the number of vaccines you got.’

Those with the resources to research this in depth have their heads in the sand. Two influential charities, the British Heart Foundation and Arrhythmia Alliance, call these events rare or deny them, while the MHRA admits the problem but claims symptoms are mild.

The British Heart Foundation have limited information on their website but call it rare. A spokesman said: ‘The BHF is completely independent and our information on the vaccine is based on the latest public health guidance and review of the scientific evidence. We regularly review our information to ensure it’s up to date.’

The Arrhythmia Alliance deny any link. They said: ‘There is now clinical evidence that the covid vaccine has not led to increased heart issues, however the pandemic has led to staff shortages and long waiting lists.’

The MHRA call vaccine-induced myocarditis mild. They said: ‘It is known that mRNA vaccines may be associated with an increased risk of myocarditis, as documented in the accompanying product information. These reports are very rare, and the events reported are typically mild with individuals usually recovering within a short time with standard treatment and rest.’
